BIOGRAPHY

"A lonesome town…a lonesome band.
a lonesome echo ‘cross the land.
A banjo playing, sounding right
a guitar crying in the night

A train crossing the Tennessee line,
making music, drinkin’ shine…"

After rebellious punk-bands, hard metal, powerful rock and heavy hardrockbands, some young, lonesome souls rediscovered their roots. The roots of everything they did before.
From blues to country en from bluegrass to a self-blended mix
they like to describe themselves as "Acoustic Roots".

Bram Verbrugghe, Frodo Mahieu en Vergil Huûghe started The Moonshine Sippin' Tennessee Train Robbers as a bluesband (with a very looooong name).
They've evolved, however to a more country and bluegrass inspired concept. Because of this shift and several personal reasons, Vergil decided to part ways.

With Benjamin Verbrugghe on percussion and Gaëlle Sabbe on additional vocals and fiddle joining the train robbers, the band travelled even further along the American music tracks.
Inspired by the all-time greats like Bill Monroe, Little Jimmy Dickens, Johnny Cash and George Jones and their passion for new country and rootsmusic like The Dixie Chicks, Old Crow Medicine Show, Ryan Bingham and Alan Jackson, it makes the TMSTTR shows a great experience, on and off stage.
It's all about having a good time. After all it's called 'playing' music.

They experiment fully within the borders of the genre and hope their listeners enjoy it as much as they do themselves. Enjoy the ride!
